Web of Knowledge introduced a new interface in January 2014. See the Web of Science Quick Tour demonstration video for information.
Web of Knowledge is the search interface for ISI databases Web of Science and Current Contents Connect, as well as CAB Abstracts, Journal Citation Reports, Food Science & Technology Abstracts and MEDLINE.
It allows these databases to be searched simultaneously using the "All Databases" search tab.
Also included is the ISI HighlyCited.com database of "preeminent" researchers in 21 broad subject categories within life sciences, medicine, physical sciences, engineering and social sciences. These individuals are the most highly cited within each category for the period 1981-1999. Provides a full listing of publications: journal articles, book or book chapters, conference proceedings, Web sites and other Internet resources, with links to Web of Science.
As well, includes Essential Science Indicators – an in-depth analytical tool offering data for ranking scientists, institutions, countries, and journals:
- Explore science performance statistics and science trends data, based on journal article publication counts and citation data
- Determine research output and impact in specific fields of research
- Evaluate potential employees, collaborators, reviewers, and peers.
Available to students and staff, on and off campus.
